Modern Slavery Statement
As a small business dedicated to providing our clients with the highest quality products, we have always prioritized ethical sourcing practices.
While we have maintained a strong focus on ethical considerations in our product sourcing, we acknowledge that until now, these practices have not been formalized into a specific company policy. Our approach has been rooted in a stringent quality control process, which includes factory visits and sampling, ensuring compliance with our ethical standards.
Our primary trading partners are located in China and Indonesia. In China, the majority of our products are sourced through a single buying agent company, owned by the Chinese Government. This agent is responsible for upholding our supply chain requirements, including compliance with the Modern Slavery Act, by selecting reputable factories and providing necessary declarations and certificates.
We personally visit facilities in China to inspect working conditions and engage with factory owners to reinforce our ethical standards. Similarly, in Indonesia, we exclusively partner with one company for all our custom product needs. Regular communication and stringent quality checks, including video and photographic evidence, are integral to our partnership.
In cases where there are concerns regarding poor or non-compliant standards, we have the option to enlist third-party quality control providers to oversee production facilities. Additionally, our partners in China and Indonesia are required to hold export licenses and meet local regulatory requirements.
In terms of staff training and awareness, while we have addressed this topic in staff briefings, it has not yet been formalized into company policy. However, in response to this questionnaire, we are committed to formalizing our company policy by the end of April 2021. Furthermore, we will revise our procurement policy and procedures to ensure that provisions of the Modern Slavery Act are incorporated into our purchase orders, further strengthening our commitment to ethical sourcing practices.
